Bromo is a volcano located in East Java, Indonesia. It is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park and is a popular destination for tourists and hikers. The name "Bromo" comes from the Javanese pronunciation of the Hindu god Brahma, and this mountain is considered sacred by the local Tenggerese people. This volcano is still active and last erupted in 2019, but it is generally considered safe to visit with the proper precautions. The best time to visit Bromo is during the dry season, from April to October, when the weather is clear and visibility is good.
